AFAC and The Festival Academy (an initiative of the European Festivals Association) launched in June 2018 a new partnership to give more festival managers from the MENA region the chance to participate in the Ateliers for Young Festival Managers. The Atelier is a 7-day training program on the artistic aspects of festival management bringing together festival managers from all over the world.
To reinforce the festival scene and build skills of festival managers, AFAC will support two emerging festival directors working in the MENA region to take part in the Ateliers for Young Festival Managers organized by The Festival Academy. The next workshop will be held in Valetta Malta from 23-29 March 2019 in partnership with Festivals Malta and the application deadline is September 15.
The first batch of supported festival directors included Adel Abdelwahab from Theatre is a Must (Egypt), Rojeh Khleif from Haifa Independent Film Festival(Palestine), and Ali Mohamed Ibrahim from Comoros Islands who all participated in the atelier organized in Gothenburg, Sweden, 23 to 29 August 2018 and were among 29 selected participants from 23 different countries.
We are inviting you to apply through this link by 15 September 2018. Up to 35 participants will be selected to take part in the next edition and AFAC will be covering all related costs for two festival managers from the Arab region.
